Entry-Level / IAP Route
Suitable for students, new internal auditors and candidates without a degree who want to begin with foundational internal audit knowledge.
- Take the IAP / CIA Part 1 examination

- Active IAP holders may receive a CIA Part 1 waiver
Traditional CIA Route
The standard professional pathway for degree holders and eligible candidates seeking the complete CIA designation.

CIA Challenge Exam

Education and Experience Requirements
The IIA links the required professional experience to the candidate’s level of education. Candidates may generally sit the examinations before completing the experience requirement, but all requirements must be completed within the programme window.
